On a prominent site just south of Finsbury Park, Vision has delivered 210 volumetric units to create a 192-bed, four-star hotel, together with a range of amenities and public realm improvements.
Formerly home to a Victorian music hall, the plot had been vacant and enclosed by hoardings since 2015. Vision used its volumetric approach to unlock the awkward site, which is hemmed in by rail lines to the east.
The brick-clad, eight-storey building is a sensitive addition to a historic neighbourhood, which includes a number of listed buildings such as the former Rainbow Theatre.
Finsbury Park has an immensely rich heritage and we’re confident this new hotel will anchor further investment, creating future heritage for north London.
A restaurant and bar on the curtain-walled ground floor have opened up the building to the public and reactivated the streetscape.
London is a key strategic growth market for Dalata. We are very excited to be opening our first Maldron hotel in the city in advance of our Maldron in Shoreditch, which is currently under construction. This acquisition represents an outstanding opportunity to operate a new, sustainably built hotel in a vibrant and developing area as we continue our ambitious UK expansion plan. The strength of our balance sheet has been a crucial element in enabling us to make this investment as we continue to create value for all of our stakeholders.
