Surrounded by rail lines on three sides and a busy TfL Red Route to the east, the site was inaccessible to traditional building methods. But by moving the vast majority of construction offsite, a landmark building has been delivered.
The 14-storey building contains 84 discounted “pocket” homes and 28 private-sale apartments, all of which have floor-to-ceiling windows. The pocket homes were sold to first-time buyers at a 20% discount below market rate. The inherent speed of the volumetric approach was therefore vital, saving money and bringing in sales revenue much earlier.
